Roots and wood such as Drift Wood are a popular decorative element in aquariums, which have become much more popular again, especially due to aquascaping. In addition to its decorative function, wood also plays an important role in the well-being of fish and invertebrates in the aquarium. It can be used to create natural hiding places or breeding grounds. Attached plants or mosses support the creation of hiding places. Wood also serves as food. Biofilms form on the surface, which serve as natural food for shrimps and snails. Wood-eating fish such as catfish even depend on the cellulose in the wood for their digestion.

Ik kreeg de planten op een ochtend toe.
Het was pas later op de avond vooraleer ik ze in mijn splinternieuw aquarium kon plaatsen.
Ik heb de doos dicht gelaten tot de avond. Toen ik deze opendeed zaten er drie trays in met stevig verpakte planten. Elk van de planten fris ogend, en sterk.
Ik heb ze in het aquarium gezet en nog geen twee weken verder moet ik al dringend gaan snoeien, ze gaan hard.
En wat ik er zeker bij moet zeggen, geen enkele slak, geen enkel spoor van alg. Heel proper afgeleverd dus. Ik ben tevreden en zal zeker nog bestellen.
Mooie, fijne mosstructuur die perfect past in een natuurlijk ogende scape. De in vitro cup was proper, zonder slakken of rommel. Alles zag er fris en gezond uit bij ontvangst.

Ik heb Dupla PlantFix gebruikt om mos en enkele andere aquariumplantjes op lavastenen te bevestigen, en dat verliep probleemloos. De lijm houdt goed, zelfs op poreuze oppervlakken zoals lavasteen, en ik had geen last van loskomende planten of troep in het water.
Het is een mooie mix van planten mooi op kleur en zien er goed uit.
