Biological filter medium for the removal of nitrate

sera siporax Nitrat-minus Professional is a top performance filter medium for biological nitrate breakdown with parallel breakdown of nitrite and ammonium. The biopolymer ball, which is coordinated with the siporax ring, optimally increases and maximizes denitrification. The degradable biopolymer serves the nitrate-degrading bacteria as a carbon source.

The biopolymer ball not only maximizes the biological filter performance of the unique sintered glass tube, but also extends the filter lifespan in two ways. In addition to the breakdown of pollutants, the special construction of the ball optimizes the water flow and thus improves the transport of substances to the inner siporax ring. This means that sera siporax Nitrat-minus Professional is a nearly maintenance-free and above all durable filter medium. The number of water changes can also be reduced. Especially in larger and/or well-stocked community and cichlid aquariums, the water parameters can be improved with siporax Nitrat-minus Professional.

sera siporax Nitrat-minus Professional can be combined with existing siporax products such as siporax Professional, siporax mini Professional and siporax pond Professional and increases the breakdown of pollutants by introducing carbon.

The biopolymer balls are broken down by bacteria over time and dissolve. They can be easily replaced to renew the carbon source.

Note: In aquariums with only plants or with many plants and a corresponding nitrogen requirement, additional NPK fertilization may be necessary for this filter medium (e.g. with sera flore 4 plant).
