The Alternanthera Cardinalis is a red-leaved stem plant that is available in several color schemes and leaf shapes.
The upper part of the leaves varies from olive green to brown, the underside of the leaves from red to dark red.
A good source of iron is therefore recommended to maintain and enhance the red colour.
Because the leaves are reddish, this forms a striking and beautiful contrast with green aquarium plants.
The plant often easily reaches a height of 40 cm and sometimes even higher.
The higher the intensity of the light, the redder the plant will become. When the intensity is not enough for its red leaves, the plant will transform into green.
If the plant grows too tall for your aquarium, you can easily top it off and place it next to the current stem, quickly and easily creating a nice field.
